Vamei was a TS tropical cyclone that formed in the South China Sea in 2001. The storm reached maximum sustained winds of 83 km/h (45 kt) with a minimum central pressure of 1006 hPa. Tracking across the South China Seain the Western Pacific basin (, it potentially affected Vietnam, the Philippines, China and Taiwan. The storm traveled from approximately 1.4°89.3° to 4.6°106.2°, crossing a range of 3 latitude and 17 longitude.
