Haiyan was a Category 3 tropical cyclone that formed in the Philippine Sea in 2013. The storm reached maximum sustained winds of 232 km/h (125 kt) with a minimum central pressure of 895 hPa tracking across the Philippine Sea in the Western Pacific basin (Northern Hemisphere).
