Mekkhala was a TS tropical cyclone that formed in the South China Sea in 2002. The storm reached maximum sustained winds of 83 km/h (45 kt) with a minimum central pressure of 990 hPa. Tracking across the South China Seain the Western Pacific basin (, it potentially affected Vietnam, the Philippines, China and Taiwan. The storm traveled from approximately 13.4°108.4° to 21.4°114.1°, crossing a range of 8 latitude and 6 longitude.
