Saomai was a C1 tropical cyclone that formed in the East China Sea in 2000. The storm reached maximum sustained winds of 176 km/h (95 kt) with a minimum central pressure of 925 hPa. Tracking across the East China Seain the Western Pacific basin (, it potentially affected Japan, Korea, Taiwan and eastern China. The storm traveled from approximately 13.6°124.2° to 40.3°157.7°, crossing a range of 27 latitude and 33 longitude.
