Meranti was a Category 3 tropical cyclone that formed in the Philippine Sea in 2016. The storm reached maximum sustained winds of 222 km/h (120 kt) with a minimum central pressure of 890 hPa tracking across the Philippine Sea in the Western Pacific basin (Northern Hemisphere).
