Sandy was a C2 tropical cyclone that formed in the Gulf of Mexico in 2012. The storm reached maximum sustained winds of 185 km/h (100 kt) with a minimum central pressure of 940 hPa. Tracking across the Gulf of Mexicoin the North Atlantic basin (, it potentially affected the US Gulf Coast, Mexico and Cuba. The storm traveled from approximately 12.6°-80.7° to 41.5°-70.5°, crossing a range of 29 latitude and 10 longitude.
