Rita was a C3 tropical cyclone that formed in the North Atlantic in 2005. The storm reached maximum sustained winds of 287 km/h (155 kt) with a minimum central pressure of 895 hPa. Tracking across the North Atlanticin the North Atlantic basin (, it potentially affected the Caribbean, Bahamas and the US East Coast. The storm traveled from approximately 21.3°-94.2° to 39.5°-69.9°, crossing a range of 18 latitude and 24 longitude.
