Kate was a C2 tropical cyclone that formed in the Gulf of Mexico in 2003. The storm reached maximum sustained winds of 204 km/h (110 kt) with a minimum central pressure of 952 hPa. Tracking across the Gulf of Mexicoin the North Atlantic basin (, it potentially affected the US Gulf Coast, Mexico and Cuba. The storm traveled from approximately 11.8°-56.4° to 63.0°-6.0°, crossing a range of 51 latitude and 50 longitude.
