Irene was a C2 tropical cyclone that formed in the Gulf of Mexico in 2011. The storm reached maximum sustained winds of 194 km/h (105 kt) with a minimum central pressure of 942 hPa. Tracking across the Gulf of Mexicoin the North Atlantic basin (, it potentially affected the US Gulf Coast, Mexico and Cuba. The storm traveled from approximately 15.0°-77.5° to 53.0°-59.0°, crossing a range of 38 latitude and 18 longitude.
