Frances was a C3 tropical cyclone that formed in the Gulf of Mexico in 2004. The storm reached maximum sustained winds of 232 km/h (125 kt) with a minimum central pressure of 935 hPa. Tracking across the Gulf of Mexicoin the North Atlantic basin (, it potentially affected the US Gulf Coast, Mexico and Cuba. The storm traveled from approximately 11.1°-85.2° to 47.2°-35.2°, crossing a range of 36 latitude and 50 longitude.
