Dean was a TS tropical cyclone that formed in the Gulf of Mexico in 2001. The storm reached maximum sustained winds of 111 km/h (60 kt) with a minimum central pressure of 994 hPa. Tracking across the Gulf of Mexicoin the North Atlantic basin (, it potentially affected the US Gulf Coast, Mexico and Cuba. The storm traveled from approximately 17.9°-70.8° to 51.0°-40.9°, crossing a range of 33 latitude and 30 longitude.
